PCI, also known as coronary angioplasty, is a procedure in which stenotic (narrowed) coronary arteries of the heart are opened with small balloons threaded through an artery. The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care's goal is to reduce mortality from heart attacks by teaching the public to recognize and react to the early symptoms of a heart attack and to reduce the time that it takes to receive treatment.
An Efficient Emergency Department
The Emergency Department (ED) at Centennial Hills Hospital has an ED Lobby Tech available during peak hours to help minimize wait times and improve each patient's experience. The Lobby Tech greets each new patient, and if the triage nurse is busy, obtains a patient's vital signs and helps them become more comfortable. The ED Lobby Tech also helps keep patients and visitors informed about wait times and physician consultations.
